Norwegian shelf flows rise

By Upstream staff

Oil, natural gas liquids and condensates production on the Norwegian continental shelf in March stood at 2.5 million cubic metres of oil equivalent the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD) said today.

NPD said the figure included 301,000 barrels of natural gas liquids and about 69,000 barrels of condensates.

During the month of March 21.9 MMcm of oil equivalent was produced, a 1.1 MMcm rise on the same period last year.

Production from the Snohvit and Mikkel fields were shut down for 10 and 17 days due to technical problems.

Average daily production is just above 2.1 million barrels of oil.

The total production is about 64.2 MMcm of oil equivalent, 2.1 MMcm of oil equivalent higher than in the same period last year.

Preliminary production figures for April show an average daily production of about 2.1 million barrels of oil and 330 million barrels of natural gas liquids and condensate.

Statfjord C, Statfjord Nord, Statfjord Sor and Sygna were closed 21 days according to plan.

Final figures will be available in the beginning of June.
