Heavy rains close Mexico ports
Two of Mexico's main oil export ports were closed by bad weather today and officials across the south-east were evacuating low-lying communities threatened by heavy rains from the remnants of Tropical Storm Arthur.
Mexico's Communications & Transportation Department announced the closure of the Gulf ports of Dos Bocas and Cayo Arcas because of strong winds and rough seas.
The third major port on the Gulf, Pajaritos, remained open, said the Associated Press.
Mexico exports roughly 1.7 million barrels of oil per day, mainly to the US Gulf Coast.
