Leed sees double pay at Eugene

By Upstream staff

UK-listed Leed Petroleum has unveiled two more pay sands at its Eugene Island A-7 well on the Gulf of Mexico.

The two sands each hold 23 feet of true vertical thickness pay, said Leed. The outfit added that to date, three commercial sands containing 80 feet of pay have been discovered in the A-7 hole. None of these zones were primary objectives and the outfit will now drill ahead to the main targets.

The Eugene Island A-6 well has been placed on production with an average restricted flow rate stable at 2095 barrels of oil equivalent per day.

The Eugene Island blocks lie 50 miles offshore, south of Louisiana’s Morgan City, in about 80 feet of water.
