Noble comes up dry

By Upstream staff

Houston-based Noble Energy’s West Tapir exploration well on Block 30 off Suriname in South America did not contain commercial hydrocarbons.

The well was drilled in 300 feet (91 metres) of water to a total depth of 12,700 feet.

Noble Energy holds a non-operated 45% working interest in Block 30.

The company said that West Tapir is the first well to be drilled off Suriname in over 20 years. The drilling results will be helpful in evaluating the basin.
