ShawCor pipes up for Enbridge project
Toronto-based ShawCor has bagged a pipeline coating job for the Enbridge Alberta Clipper project worth C$50 million (US$49 million).
ShawCor said its Shaw Pipe Protection unit would carry out the work.
The company will provide the anti-corrosion coating and dual layer fusion bonded epoxy coating for around 1600 kilometres (994 miles) of 36 inch pipe for the project.
Coating will begin in the third quarter of the year at the company's Regina pipe coating facility.
The company will provide Enbridge with rail car loading services for the coated pipe.
The project is a crude oil pipeline that will extend from Hardisty, Alberta to Superior, Wisconsin and is expected to be in service by mid-2010.
