Counting costs: Paolo Scaroni
Scaroni tots up 'Robin Hood tax' costs
An Italian government plan for a "Robin Hood tax" on energy companies will see Eni presented with a bill of less than €500 million ($778 million), company boss Paolo Scaroni said today.
Economy Minister Giulio Tremonti has said the main tax on energy company profits will be increased to 33% from 27.5%. When asked by Reuters if the tax would cost Eni €500 million, Scaroni replied: "Less."
