Gas flows boosted at Sulige

Wire services

PetroChina raised daily output at its giant Sulige gasfield to 15 million cubic metres this week, a 50% jump from last November, local media reported today.

The annual production capacity of Sulige, in north China's Ordos Basin, would nearly double from the current level to 10 billion cubic metres by 2010 if the current development pace is maintained, the official Xinhua news agency said.

At 10 Bcm, Sulige would account for 15% of China's total gas output last year at 66.6 Bcm.

The field boasts 533.6 Bcm of proven gas reserves, reported Reuters.
