Aussie duo strike gas at Arpaci

By Upstream staff

Australian explorers Incremental Petroleum and Otto Energy are set to flow test the Arpaci-2A well on the Edirne basin in western Turkey after striking about 20 metres of net gas bearing sands.

The joint venture said that the probe hit three potential gas bearing internals between 160 metres and 350 metres after the well was sunk to a total depth of 525 metres.

Preliminary wireline log analyses indicate about 20 metres of net gas bearing reservoir sands.

Now the well is being prepared for flow testing the lowermost interval from 340 metres to 348 metres, which is expected to start shortly.

Incremental Petroleum and Turkish partner Petraco operate the Edirne project. Incremental holds a 55% stake and Petraco 10%, while Otto holds a 35% share.
