Aker scoops Qserv for $197m

Aker Solutions has bought Aberdeen-based well services company Qserv for Nkr1 billion ($197.2 million).

Qserv is a privately owned company established in 2001 with around 400 employees.

As well as the North Sea, Qserv has also operations in West Africa, Middle-East and South East Asia.

The company provides a range of well, process and pipeline services. Revenues in 2007 stood at around Nkr500 million.

Aker Solutions will make an initial payment of approximately Nkr1billion and a deferred payment in 2011 for the company.

The two companies already work together within wireline tractor services, logging services and light well intervention vessels
