Straight in: Subsea 7 starts work immediately on the Centrica contracts
Subsea7 dives into $70m Centrica gigs
Subsea 7 has scored $70 million contract from Centrica Resources for the Grove Extension and Seven Seas Development projects in the southern North Sea.
The contract is a tieback of new gas production wells to the existing Grove and West Sole Alpha Platforms via 6 inch and 8 inch carbon steel production pipelines and integrated service and control umbilicals.
The work scope includes project management, engineering, procurement, fabrication, installation and pre-commissioning of the two pipelines totalling around. 13 kilometres in length, three service umbilicals, three piled structures and all associated subsea installation and construction work including trenching and protection of the pipeline and umbilical systems.
Engineering will start immediately at Subsea 7’s Aberdeen offices while fabrication of the pipelines will be carried out at the company’s fabrication and spoolbase facility at Vigra, on the west coast of Norway.
Offshore operations are due to take place during second and third quarter of next year using a number of Subsea 7’s vessels, including the recently acquired Seven Navica
