Vietnam unveiling: the Su Tu Vang field is due to start production next month
Su Tu Vang taps to flow next month
Vietnam's Su Tu Vang oilfield is expected to begin commercial production at 10,000 barrels per day from 1 October and output would be raised to 30,000 bpd in November, an official from Petrovietnam said today.
First oil was last scheduled for this month, company officials had said in July.
"All preparation work has been completed for the field to produce its first oil on 1 October and the oil will be sold as Su Tu Den," the official, who declined to be identified, said, referring to Vietnam's second-largest oilfield.
He said production would be stabilised at 30,000 bpd to 35,000 bpd in December but declined to forecast output in the longer term, reported Reuters.
State oil group Petrovietnam holds a 50% stake in both Su Tu Vang, with partners ConocoPhillips on 23.3%, Korea National Oil Corporation with a 14.2% stake, SK Energy with a 9% stake and France's Geopetrol with 3.5%.
