'Gazprom not deterred by financial woes'

Russian gas giant Gazprom is committed to its strategy of annual dividend rises and does not plan to scale back projects because of the financial crisis, chief financial officer Andrei Kruglov said today.

"We don't have plans to suspend any project because of the financial crisis," Reuters quoted Kruglov telling an annual conference organised by UBS.

He said the company's state-controlled board will review Gazprom's strategy in December and added the company was counting on government's support should it face financial difficulties.
