Cochran 1 flows for Index
Index Oil & Gas has started production from the Cochran 1 well in the Garwood prospect in Colorado County, Texas.
The well is flowing at a daily rate of over 6.1 million cubic feet of gas and 100 barrels of oil plus approximately 300 barrels of water through an 18/64-inch choke.
Index holds a 5% working interest in the well and leases in this programme.
Drilling of the well began in late October last year and is part of an ongoing exploration program in South Texas.
“Drilling of the first appraisal well could be as early as the second quarter of 2009,” said company boss Lyndon West.
“Index believes that the potential exists to drill additional development wells on the prospect.''
