Arrow fires Vietnam probe

Australia’s Arrow Energy said it had kicked off methane exploration in Vietnam with the spudding of the MVHN-01KT block in the north of the country.

The well is being sunk to a depth of 600 metres on a 2600-square-kilometre block, about 80 kilometres north of Hanoi.

The well is the first of eight wells to be sunk on the block in the next six months, targeting gas in Miocene-age coals above a conventional gas reservoir.
