Russia and Ukraine ‘to meet over gas row’
Russia and Ukraine have agreed to meet on Saturday in Moscow to discuss a row over gas prices that has cut supplies to Europe, according to reports in the Russian media.
Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko and Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin spoke by telephone at midnight on Thursday, Interfax news agency said, quoting the Ukrainian government’s press service.
"In the conversation, an agreement was reached to hold talks on Saturday in Moscow between the governments of the two states on the gas issue," it was quoted as saying by the media, according to a Reuters report.
