Delivery problems: east European leaders meet to discuss Russian supply
East Europe leaders meet over gas row
Leaders of several east European countries will hold talks in Kiev today on the disruption of Russian gas supplies via Ukraine to Europe, the Slovak president, Ivan Gasparovic's office said.
Gasparovic's office said the Slovak leader would meet Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko and also hold talks with the presidents of Lithuania and Poland, as well as leaders of other neighbours of the ex-Soviet state, wrote Reuters.
There was no immediate confirmation in Kiev of the meeting, which would be held on the eve of an energy "summit" proposed by Russia for Saturday in Moscow.
Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko is due to meet her Russian opposite number, Vladimir Putin, tomorrow in the Russian capital.
The government in Moldova, Ukraine's western neighbour, confirmed that Prime Minister Zinaida Greceanii was headed for Kiev for talks.
