Nigeria gunmen free Romanian hostage
A Romanian man seized by gunmen who attacked an oil vessel off the coast of Nigeria on yesterday has been released today, a military spokesman said.
"The Romanian that was abducted yesterday has been released this morning," said Lieutenant Colonel Sagir Musa, spokesman for the military taskforce policing the southern state of Rivers where the crew member was kidnapped, without giving details.
Private security contractors working in the industry said they could not confirm the release of the Romanian.
