Saskatchewan sale: Talisman unloads acreage.
Talisman to sell Bakken assets
Calgary independent Talisman Energy Canada and its affiliate, Fortuna have agreed to sell their assets in Bakken play in southwest Saskatchewan and Daniels County, Montana for about C$720 million (US$565.6 million) to Crescent Point Resources and TOG Partnership, an affiliate of Tristar Oil & Gas.
The sale includes about 610,000 net acres of land (73% in southeast Saskatchewan, including fee title lands) with about 8500 barrels of equivalent per day of net production, as well as Talisman owned and operated infrastructure.
An independent reserves report by AJM Petroleum Consultants estimated proved reserves at 20.1 million barrels of oil equivalent.
The sale is expected to close 1 June.
"Although southeast Saskatchewan has been part of our legacy, the majority of our capital spending and effort in North America going forward will be deployed to accelerate success in our unconventional natural gas plays, Talisman head John Manzoni said.
