New job: for Leiv Eiriksson
Petrobras signs up Leiv Eiriksson
Norwegian contract driller Ocean Rig has scooped a $630 million job with Brazilian giant Petrobras for the charter of the ultra deep-water semi-submersible Leiv Eiriksson.
The contract is for three years and will be for work in the Black Sea, with the contract value including the costs of mobilisation, disassembly and reassembly of the semisub's derrick structure for transit through the Bosphorus.
The job's dayrate, including costs, equates to about $575,300.
The contract is expected to start in direct continuation of the rigs current contract with Shell.
Norwegian driller Ocean Rig was bought by Greek shipping company DryShips last year.
