Double joy for CNOOC at Bohai Bay
China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) has made two new oil and gas discoveries during drilling of the Bozhong (BZ) 2-1 and Qinhuangdao (QHD) 29-2 wells in Bohai Bay.
Located in the Bozhong Sag area, the BZ 2-1 well hit an oil pay zone of 50.9 metres.
Test flow rates for the well averaged at 1270 barrels per day of oil and 393 thousand cubic feet of natural gas per day.
Meanwhile, well QHD 29-2, located southeast of Qinnan Sag, hit oil pay zones of 34.7 meters and gas pay zones of 47.9 meters.
The well tested flow rates of around 3930 bpd of oil and 15.2 MMcfd of natural gas.
