New acreage: off Norway for Noreco and Lundin
Noreco scoops up five in Norway round
Norwegian operator Noreco has bagged five out of 21 awards made in the latest licensing round on the Norwegian continental shelf.
The licenses are all in the Norwegian Sea and and will significantly increase the risked exploration resources in the company” said Noreco in a statement.
Noreco scooped up a 50% stake in PL520, PL525 and PL519.
Meanwhile, the company won 20% stakes in PL526 and PL523.
In 2009, Noreco plans to drill a total of five exploration wells, two of which have been drilled already resulting in the recent Gita discovery in Denmark.
Meanwhile neighbouring Sweden’s Lundin Petroleum announced that it had been awarded two new exploration licence interests in the round.
The awards include a 40% interest in PL519 (operator) in the Norwegian Sean and a 20% interest in PL533 in the Barents Sea.
