Turkish delight: more gas detected in Kirmizihoyuk-1.
More gas hit in Turkish wildcat
Australia’s Otto Energy said the Kirmizihoyuk-1 wildcat drilled in Turkey’s Edirne licence has detected additional gas resources with associated water production.
Kirmizihoyuk-1 drilled to a total depth 500 metres hit a gas bearing column in ‘deeper ambiguous zones’, with test flow of up to 0.71 million cubic feet a day, according to Otto. The well had earlier encountered about 15 metres of gas pay over three zones.
Otto is preparing to conduct further flow tests on the main target intervals.
Otto holds a 35% stake in Edirne. The licence is operated by joint venture partners Petroleum Exploration Mediterranean (55%) and Petraco (10%).
