Looking good: Topaz bags two big contracts.
Topaz adds to work stash
United Arab Emirates-based offshore vessel player Topaz Energy and Marine said today it had grabbed a pair of contracts worth a combined $325 million.
Topaz subsidiary BUE Kazakhstan won a $100 million contract with Italy’s Agip KCO in Kazakhstan.
Topaz will custom-build, own and operate six specialized barges over a 10-year period to support Agip’s development programme in the Kashagan field in the northern Caspian Sea.
The six ice-class barges will be deployed next year and are comprised of three cutting, one liquid-mud and two flat-top barges.
Topaz also won USD 225 million with UK supermajor BP for work in the Caspian Sea.
Under that contract, Topaz will operate three vessels in support of BP’s programme in Azerbaijan over the next ten years.
