Gas group set for Qatar gathering
Qatar will host a ministerial meeting for gas exporting nations on 30 June, according to reports.
Russia, Bolivia, Algeria, Libya, Iran and Venezuela were among the at least 12 countries expected to attend the meeting, Abdulaziz al-Malki, the director of the office for Qatar's oil minister, told the state-run Qatar News Agency.
The Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) last held a ministerial meeting in Moscow, when members agreed a charter for the group, a Reuters report said.
Until then, the GECF had been an informal talking shop for some of the world's top gas producers and exporters.
