Petroceltic corks Algerian well
Irish explorer Petroceltic International has corked the INE-2 well on the Isarene Block in Algeria’s Illizi basin after drilling to a target depth 1020 metres.
Wireline log information and drilling data have confirmed gas bearing intervals in the objective Devonian F2 sands which are in line with expectations.
The well was drilled by Petroceltic, the operator on 75% interest, on behalf of Algerian partner Sonatrach.
The well has been suspended for testing and the rig has left the site to mobilise to the AT-1 site on the Ain Tsila Ridge. AT-1 is expected to start drilling around the 20 June.
The INE-2 well is planned to be tested after testing of the AT-1 well, said Petroceltic.
