Putin set to meet gas duo

Prime Minister Vladimir Putin will meet the heads of French giant Total and Russian gas player Novatek to discuss the companies' co-operation in Russia, Putin's spokesman said today.

"They will discuss forms of co-operation in the Russian market," Dmitry Peskov told Reuters.

He declined further comments.

Analysts say meetings between Putin and heads of big companies often precede a major announcement.
