Spain: Prime Minister Jose Luis Zapatero
Spain looks to Nigeria for E&P
Spain's Prime Minister Jose Luis Zapatero held energy talks today with Nigerian President Umaru Yar Adua.
The talks included the potential of working along with Nigerian companies, Zapatero said.
"We talked about energy - of course oil and gas but also about renewable energy," Zapatero said.
Nigeria's Finance Minister Mansur Muhtar said Zapatero's visit would help develop the West African country's gas sector, an AFP report said.
"We expect Spain will be heavily involved in the development of Nigeria's gas sector," said Muhtar.
Zapatero also pledged to push for Africa to have a permanent seat on the UN Security Council.
"Spain will work for change in the UN Security Council ...to cover this injustice," Zapatero said, referring to Africa's absence from the Security Council.
