New job: off Angola for MCS

Subsea technology consultancy MCS is set to dive in at BP's Plutao, Staurno, Venus and Marte (PSVM) project, in Block 31 off Angola, after landing a contract with JP Kenny.
The job will see MCS will carry out umbilical and riser design verification analysis JP Kenny at the deep-water development.
The first phase of the work is expected to take three to four months.
Financial details were not immediately available.
BP received sanction for the Block 31 development last year. The first phase of the project covers the PSVM fields, which lie in Block 31's north-east sector in water depths of about 2000 metres.
The fields will be brought on stream via a floating production, storage and offloading vessel, with first oil planned in 2011. At platueau production, expected in 2012, the fields are expected to pump about 150,000 barrels per day.
To date, BP has made 17 separate discoveries at Block 31.
