Remedial ESV: jack-up platform launched at Yantai Rafflies in China.
Yantai launches Remedial jack-up
Yantai Raffles has launched its first newbuild elevating support vessel (ESV) for Remedial Offshore.
The ESV was recently winched over rollers onto the launching barge.
The well intervention and workover jack-up is built based on Remedial’s proprietary ESV design, which combines the capabilities of a jack-up platform, an ocean-going vessel, a workover drilling rig, heavylift cranes and an offshore accommodation platform into a single package.
The jack-up unit is equipped with a 280-tonne pedestral crane, 1060 square metres of deck space and accommodation for up to 120 persons.
The new design allows the ESV to perform elevated operations up to 55 feet away from the well structure and to operate on any well in up to 325 feet of water.
Remedial has one other ESV under construction at Cosco’s Nantong shipyard in China.
