Vantage Drilling's jack-up: Sapphire Driller at PPL Shipyard.
Sapphire Driller primed for Foxtrot gig
Vantage Drilling’s newbuild jack-up Sapphire Driller will depart Singapore early next month for a three-month firm charter with Foxtrot International off the Ivory Coast.
The contract was announced earlier this month, but the client was not identified. The deal valued at $13.6 million to $23.8 million, carries an option for a three-month extension.
Sapphire Driller was officially named last Friday at SembCorp Marine’s PPL Shjpyard. The jack-up is the second of four rigs Vantage has with PPL Shipyard.
The first unit, Emerald Driller has gone on a two-year contract with Pearl Energy after departing Singapore earlier this year.
Vantage may be using one of the four newbuild jack-ups to fulfill a six to 12-month 2011 drilling programme for an undisclosed client off West Africa.
