TGS kicks off Barents Sea shoot
Norwegian seismic contractor TGS-Nopec has started a new multi-client 3D shoot in the Barents Sea off Norway with the M/V Geo Barents.
The sweep covers a 4300 square kilometre area over the Hoop fault complex.
The survey is the largest 3D shoot carried out by TGS on the Norwegian continental shelf and covers not only open blocks expected to be offered in later tender rounds, but also acreage awarded in the recent Norwegian 20th round.
TGS will deliver preliminary data packages to prefunding customers in the autumn of 2009. Final data products will be available to industry in the first half of next year.
