Polish prize: BNK get three concessions in Poland.
BNK wins Polish leases
US-based BNK Petroleum’s Polish subsidiary, Saponis Investments has been awarded three exploration concessions in Poland by the Ministry of Environment.
The three concessions, Starogard, Slupsk and Slawno, are located in northern Poland and cover about 720,000 acres.
BNK has an 80% working interest in each, assuming a previously granted right to participate is exercised by a privately owned Delaware company.
BNK is eyeing the shales underlying the concessions for natural gas development, the company said in a release.
The company must spud one well on each concession within 18 months to hold the licences.
After analyzing cores from previous wells to find a drilling location, BNK intends to drill its first well next year.
The company said it is shopping the for partnerships during the exploration phase of development.
