Suspected sabotage: RCMP and EnCana workers at previous blast site
EnCana suspects sabotage
A gas leak at an EnCana Corporation wellhead in northeastern British Columbia, Canada may be the result of sabotage.
The leak was reported yesterday morning after an employee conducted a routine check and discovered the wellhead was damaged and there was a drop in pressure.
A spokesperson for the Calgary, Alberta-based company said the Royal Canadian Mounted Police were called in to investigate the leak because it is suspected to be the result of minor explosion.
Between last October and January this year, four separate explosions rocked EnCana wells in northeastern British Colombia, each believed to be caused by ecoterrorists in the area.
No charges have been filed.
All five of the incidents have occurred near the town of Dawson Creek, British Colombia.
