CNOOC Ltd, the listed unit of China National Offshore Oil  Corporation (CNOOC) is embarking on a plan that envisages increased co-operation with foreign oil companies at home and  overseas as it works to meet a  targeted hydrocarbon production growth rate of between 6% and 10% per annum from now until 2015.

Pumping up the volume: in the Cooper Eromanga basin

Butlers-1 flows for Beach

Australia’s Beach Petroleum reported that the Butlers-1 oil discovery has flowed 2600 barrels of oil per day following its completion as a producer in licence PEL 92 in the state of Queensland.

The well will not be tied into the nearby Perlubie-Parsons oil gathering system and facility.

Estimates carried out after drilling indicate an oil resource of about 1 million barrels gross, Beach said today.

Beach Petroleum operates PEL 92 in the Cooper-Eromanga basin with a 75% interest. Cooper Energy holds the remaining 25% interest.
