No cuts: to taxes in Russia
'Russia tax cuts unlikely'
Russia cannot cut value added tax while the crisis puts a crunch on the country's public finances, and is unlikely to abolish oil export duty even in the medium term, Deputy Economy Minister Andrei Klepach said.
"In our view during the crisis we cannot lower the VAT rates," Reuters quoted Klepach as saying.
The VAT rate is currently at 18%.
The oil export duty, currently at $212.6 per tonne of crude, will rise to $222 per tonne in August.
