Oman: first wildcat a duster for Thai PTTEP in the middle eastern country.
PTTEP tastes dust in Oman
PTTEP has hit dust in the first exploration well Wassa-1, drilled in Block 58, in Oman's onshore play.
The well was drilled to a total depth of 4275 metres on 22 June without any significant petroleum shows.
The total well cost of 450 million baht ($13.2 million) will be written off during the second quarter of this financial year.
Block 58 covers 2277 square kilometres in the south-west sector of the Sultanate of Oman. PTTEP was awarded exploration and production rights to the onshore block in 2006.
