New job: for Parker Drilling on the Liberty rig
Parker lands new BP Liberty job
US rig contractor Parker Drilling has won a two-year operations and maintenance job with BP for the Liberty rig, which operates at the field of the same name on Alaska's North Slope.
Work under the new contract has already started, said Parker in a statement.
“The O&M contract is the third phase of the Liberty field development project awarded to Parker,” said the company.
“Phase one was a technical service project awarded in 2006 by BP to provide a conceptual design for the purpose-built rig, and phase two was the construction and commissioning contract, awarded in 2008.”
The Liberty rig, which operates from onshore and is designed to drill ultra-extended-reach wells to offshore targets in the Liberty field, arrived on location in July.
