Ghanem 'to step down as NOC boss'
Shokri Ghanem tendered his resignation as chairman of Libya’s National Oil Corporation (NOC), according to reports.
News of Ghanem's move was published in the Middle East Economic Survey (MEES) reported, citing an official in Tripoli who declined to be identified.
Ghanem was himself prime minister of the North African country between 2003 and 2006, and is the nation’s top oil official.
It is unclear whether the Libyan government will accept Ghanem’s resignation, which was submitted to prime minister Baghdadi Mahmudi, Reuters quoted MEES as saying.
