Speaking out: Alexei Kudrin
Russia to sell off oil stakes
Russia is planning gradually to reduce its stakes in big state oil companies and those in a number of other sectors, as part of its post-crisis strategy, Finance Minister Alexei Kudrin told reporters today.
Kudrin said the renewed privatisation drive could materialise in the next three years, a Reuters report said.
The Russian state has holdings in a number of major players, including gas giant Gazprom, oil producer Rosneft and pipeline monopoly Transneft.
But he said the state could increase its stakes in troubled automotive and defence companies during the financial crisis.
