Pipe explosion: cuts monthly Iraq output
Iraq output slips on Kirkuk halt
Iraq's oil exports fell to an average of 1.868 million barrels per day in October compared with 2 million bpd in September, the head of the State Oil Marketing Organisation (SOMO) Falah Almari said today.
Alamri told Reuters that the drop in exports was due to lower output from the fields around the northern city of Kirkuk.
Suspected insurgents blew up a section of a pipeline from Kirkuk to the Turkish port of Ceyhan in late October, interrupting the pumping of oil for a week.
Alamri said the average price paid for Iraqi crude last month was $71.6 per barrel, and total revenues from oil sales in October reached $4.2 billion.
He said exports from the southern oil hub of Basra reached 1.493 million bpd on average last month and Kirkuk reached 375,000 bpd.
Iraq's exports have slipped gradually from a peak of 2.037 million bpd in July.
