Cidade de Santos sets sail for Brazil
Modec's floating production, storage and offloading vessel Cidade de Santos begin its journey from China's Cosco Dalian shipyard to Brazil next week, after which it will work for Petrobras in the Santos basin.
The floater will be installed on the Urugua-Tambau project, located 170 kilometres east of where the Mexilhao natural gas platform will be installed, reported Brasil Energia, an electronic news bullletin.
The Cidade de Santos will offer capacity for 10 million cubic metres per day of natural gas, plus 35,000 barrels per day of liquids.
The unit is scheduled to enter into production in the January 2010, according to Modec.
The gas processed in the FPSO Cidade de Santos MV20 will be delivered through an 18 inch gas pipeline to merge with a larger pipeline to shore from the Mexilhao field.
The FPSO was converted from the VLCC FSO Bateau and has a storage capacity of approximately 700,000 barrels.
It will be installed in 1300 meters water depth operating under a 12 year lease with three one-year options.
