Jack-up PV Drilling III: en-route to Vietnam for five-year charter with Vietsovpetro.
Keppel delivers PV Drilling III
KeppelFels has delivered a second jack-up rig within a span of less than three months to PetroVietnam Drilling & Well Services (PV Drilling).
The Singapore-based rig builder was awarded S$640,000 (about US$462,000) bonus for delivering the rig one and a half months before schedule and without incident.
PV Drilling III is due to begin a five-year contract with Vietsovpetro in the Bach Ho field, offshore Vietnam.
The rig is the second jack-up KeppelFels has delivered to PV Drilling this year.
The Vietnamese driller took delivery of the earlier unit, PV Drilling II in September.
The jack-up was ready for work as soon as it arrived on location and has achieved a good operational track record without any downtime, PV Drilling’s president, Do Van Kanh said.
Keppel has delivered three KFELS Class jack-ups to PV Drilling since 2005.
The KFELS B Class rig is able to operate in water depths of 400 feet with a drilling depth of 30,000 feet.
PV Drilling III is the third KFELS B Class jack-up rig
PV Drilling III completes the series of three KFELS B Class jackup rigs ordered by PV Drilling since 2005.
