Ready to roll: ExxonMobil hands out contract for nitrogen facility.
Praxair gets Hawkins nitrogen work
US gases company Praxair has signed a contract with supermajor ExxonMobil to build and operate an air separation unit that will create additional nitrogen for enhanced oil recovery at the Hawkins field.
Praxair will produce 85 million cubic feet per day of high-pressure nitrogen as well as liquid argon.
The project is scheduled for start-up in the second half of 2011.
Praxair did not release financial details of the contract.
