Flagged up: Victoria's Logbaba hopes
Victoria cracks on at Logbaba
AIM-listed Victoria Oil & Gas has spudded the La-106 well at the Logbaba project in Cameroon.
The well is the second to be drilled by Victoria at Logbaba and will twin La-101, which was drilled by Elf in 1954.
La-106 will be drilled to about 8700 feet and should take 60 days to complete.
While La-106 is being drilled, testing will be carried out in the gas-bearing zones hit by the La-105 well.
Last week, Victoria identified a major potential hydrocarbon accumulation around two kilometres from the current drilling location on the Logbaba project.
The new accumulation, which lies entirely within Victoria’s licence block, appears to be substantially larger than the existing discovery and has not been seen in any previous subsurface studies due to the lack of geophysical data.
