Cobalt borrows Anadarko rig
US offshore explorer Cobalt International Energy has signed a rig assignment agreement US independent Anadarko.
The deal gives Cobalt use of Ocean Monarch to drill the North Platte-1 exploration well.
Cobalt expects to take control of the rig around 1 May with the option to drill a second well.
Under the agreement, Cobalt committed to use the rig for at least 75 days at a dayrate of roughly $440,000.
