New seismic: by PA Resources off Greenland
PA lines up new Greenland seismic
Swedish operator PA Resources said today it has awarded a contract to CGGVeritas for 2D seismic acquisition of Block 8, off West Greenland.
The acquisition will cover around 6300 kilometres of 2D seismic data on a two by four kilometre grid, said PA resources in a statement.
Work is due to start in June and expected to take around eight to 10 weeks to complete.
“West Greenland is a high risk - high potential exploration frontier which is being actively explored by a number of large companies with drilling further north expected to take place in 2010,” said company boss Ulrik Jansson.
“PA Resources is now moving to the next phase by acquiring seismic data to progress our leads to prospect status.”
PA Resources holds an 87.5% interest in the license in partnership with Greenland's national oil company, NunaOil, which holds the remaining 12.5%.
