The London-listed company announced on Tuesday that Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Oil & Gas has handed it approval for gas flaring at the NW Konys field between this year and 2014.
This was the final regulatory consent needed before pilot production could take place, Roxi said.
The company now expects to press ahead with pilot production at the NK 4 and NK 6 wells in the first quarter this year.
Chief executive David Wilkes also said Roxi will test the outcome of wells NK 9 and NK 10 in early 2012.
Shares in Roxi were up over 6% as of early Tuesday afternoon local time.
