Production tests from the 1-BRSA-961-AM well, which tapped the Jurua formation, yielded 1400 barrels of 41 API oil per day and 45,000 cubic metres of gas per day.
Informally known as Leste do Igarape Chipata, the well was drilled to a total depth of 3295 metres and is about 25 kilometres from the oil-producing Urucu province in the Coari municipality.
It's the second successful find made in the country's Solimoes T-171 block, where the Igarape Chiabata well, also known as 1-BRSA-769-AM, likewise revealed a discovery.
The Brazilian state oil company has a 100% stake in the project.
