Fabrication of the jacket is set to get underway at Kvaerner’s Verdal yard by the fourth quarter of this year, with the finished jacket set for delivery in the Spring of 2014.
The contract includes engineering, procurement, supply, construction, load-out and sea-fastening of the jacket and associated piles, estimated to have a total weight of 21,400 tonnes when completed.
Kvaerner was thought to have had a keen interest in winning the contract, after Total
invited bids from South East Asian players.
"We are very pleased to have won our second jacket this year in tough international competition,” Kvaerner vice president Nina Udnes Tronstad responsible for the jacket business said in an announcement.
Total holds a 49% interest in Hild, with Petoro on 30% and Statoil on 21%.
