ExxonMobil's Thailand home

By Upstream staff

US supermajor ExxonMobil is moving to centralise management and technical services for its subsidiaries by making Thailand its business service centre for Asia Pacific.

Esso (Thailand) director Pipop Pruecksamas told the Bangkok Post: “Thailand is our first headquarters for the Asia Pacific. Similar centres are operating in the US and Europe. It's time for us to consolidate these services for the whole region in order to be more efficient.”

The centre will cost ExxonMobil 160 million baht ($3.7 million) to establish and will create 600 jobs.
